Home Renovation and Bullet Journals

Updated: Jun 20, 2020

We have a lot of radiators in the house and it would have costed a fair bit to replace all of them so instead we spent a small fortune buying bits to give them a fresh make over instead!

Here is a step by step guide

  1. Remove Radiators and drain

  2. Put down a sheet outside and place radiator down

  3. Wipe down your radiators using a cloth and sugar soap

  4. Lightly sand down your radiators

  5. Wipe down again (several times) and let it dry before moving onto the next step

Make sure you are wearing gloves and a mask for the next part:

Using No Nonsense Radiator Spray Paint, shake well and hover about 30cm from the radiator and start spraying evenly. It is much better to do several thin coats than one thick one. Leave about 20- 30 minutes between each coat before spraying again

I am so pleased with how they turned out! Check out the difference!

Here are all the items I used and where I purchased them.

No Nonsense Satin Spray - £6.99 from Screwfix

No Nonsense Sugar Soap - £2.49 from Screwfix

120 Grit Sandpaper - £4.50 from B&Q

Sponge Cloths - £1 from B&M

I was very lucky to be chosen to collaborate with Annie Violet. Annie Violet is an independent business who have a range of fragrances in the form of candles, wax melts, diffusers and more. When I opened the box, I was pleased to see that the company uses eco foam! It is packaging that looks and acts like polystyrene, until it is immersed in water. Then it disappears like corn starch, which is 95% of its content. Here is what was in my package:

ITEMS:

Cairo Wax Melt Burner in Black - £12.50

Lemongrass & Ginger Melts - £5

Angelic Melts - £5

Orchid Noir Melts - £5

The packaging is beautiful and they're also made from recycled Polypropylene. Not all plastics are bad but the problem comes when it's time to recycle it. The PET shells are frosted, you can tell it is recycled by making sure it has this finish. This type of plastic has the best chance of being recycled in the UK and the clam shells they use are the most environmentally friendly you can use.

The wax they use is vegetable wax. It is vegetarian, vegan friendly and cruelty free. Each cube has over 10 hours of fragrance in them so they are long lasting! I had one cube of Lemongrass & Ginger burning by my bedroom door and I could smell the scent from the bottom of the stairs! That was one of my favourite scents as it reminded me of my holidays when I went to Cambodia.

The Cairo Burner is a brand new item on their website and it's simply stunning. I adore the black and it is going to go beautifully in my soon to be (hopeful) monochrome styled home! This burner also comes in Gloss White too!

I am so impressed by everything that was sent to me. The products and company ethics is second to none!

The wax melts are a really nice weight, strong but not overpowering in the scents and they melt beautifully. Let's not forget the gorgeous packaging too. There are a lot of fragrance businesses out there, I know. Please do give Annie Violet a try and support an independent business today.

Moodboards are a great way gathering ideas, I've made several mood boards for the same room just because over time my taste has changed or pinterest will sway me! Being in lockdown, it's given me more time to look at inspiration ideas and think about my own decor style.

TIPS: Just because you may be set on a certain style, DO look at other styles and DON'T rush!

This mood board is for our ensuite bathroom, I always get asked questions where are items from so I will list them here.

Wash, Brush, Floss, Flush Print - £2 for a A6 Print from Jungle Prints UK - Use code NORFOLKAVE20 for 20% off your whole order (Other sizes available)

Egyptian Cotton Black Towels - £64.99 for the set from Hampton and Astley - Use my friends discount code ANNA50 for 50% off your whole order!

Black Sliding Shower - From £159.99 (Depends on your size) from Big Bathroom Shop

Nixon Bathroom Mirror - £71.99 from Wayfair

Black Towel Radiator - £43.99 from Screwfix - We bought this! It's not installed yet but so far the quality looks great!

Black Frame Sink Basin - from £154 (Depends on your size) from UK Bathrooms

Black Matt Towel Shelf - £89.95 from Victorian Plumbing

Toilet Roll and Phone Holder - £8.44 from Wayfair

Marble Tiles for Floor and Walls will be from CTD Tiles

Even though we are nowhere near even purchasing more items, I couldn't help but buy things when i've been out.

When I was in The Range, I picked up a Baylis and Harding Hand Wash in the White Tea and Neroli Scent. It's not too overpowering and I love the hints of Citrus and Pear, the packaging is literally perfect! This was £2.49.

I have been looking for a new electric toothbrush and it must be fate because i've never seen a black one before and it was half price for £35 on Amazon!

I'm super pleased with it and i'm looking forward to seeing my moodboard come to life and all my purchases in their HOME!
